Electricity Market Compliance Manager

An Electricity Market Compliance Manager is required for a leading global renewable energy company to establish and manage a compliance framework for renewable energy assets in the NEM. 

This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded business with an excellent, positive working environment full of people who are very passionate about their work. 

The Electricity Market Compliance Manager will: 

  • Achieve AEMO registration, CER accreditation and state-based generation authorisation in time to facilitate early generation.  
  • Manage the on-going compliance of each project with the latest versions of National Electricity Law and National Electricity Rules. 
  • Management of each project’s LGC’s through the REC Registry, PPA’s and merchant sale processes in conjunction with the Settlements team. 
  • Liaise with project stakeholders and electricity off-takers to communicate and collate Key Accountabilities. 
  • Oversee the installation of the automated NEM dispatch management tool to manage site communications. 
  • Once operational, manage communications with AEMO to respond to market alerts and directions as they are issued.  
  • Maintain close working relationship with the Control Centre to enable Operational Controllers to respond effectively with AEMO.

OH&S and Quality Manager

An OH&S and Quality Manager is required for a listed energy business that is pursuing a growth and diversification strategy. Some recent technology company acquisitions have made significant contributions to their growing energy solutions suite. They have a large client base of energy customers who will be receptive to the broader energy solutions they can now provide.

You will be required to ensure that third party vendors and contractors will meet and comply with the current legislation as well as the company’s OH&S requirements and framework. In addition, you will ensure a clear and defined OH&S framework is in place for the Energy Solutions delivery model which will feed into to an overall corporate framework.

The OH&S and Quality Manager will also be responsible for training the broader team in Energy Solutions on the latest OH&S requirements, policy and corporate changes as well as assist in designing and maintaining the day to day Quality Systems, processes and improvement framework

You will need:

  • A background in large organizations where high standards of OH&S and Quality Management was maintained.
  • A track record of delivering and maintaining a rigid OH&S framework in a similar size business and industry.
  • Further education, ideally tertiary level qualification, in OH&S and Quality Systems.

Based in Sydney, this is an exciting opportunity to join a highly experienced team that includes specialists in developing, engineering, constructing and connecting renewable energy projects.

Specifically, the Energy Storage Business & Market Development Manager will:

  • Support the Head of Energy Storage with the formulation of the Energy Storage Business Development strategy.
  • Conduct market mapping and scanning activities to generate energy storage opportunities with new and existing clients.
  • Contribute to new product development and localisation of the energy storage innovation road map.
  • Work with solar and wind project development teams to ensure energy storage solutions are incorporated into hybrid projects as appropriate.
  • Monitor the energy storage and project development market (globally) and share learnings with the global energy storage team to ensure best practice.
  • Compile business, pipeline and project performance reports as requested by management.

Preferred requirements include:

  • An Engineering degree and MBA are preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrable track record of business development in Australian energy, infrastructure or utility industries.

  • Experience of crafting and closing complex solution sales in, preferably, intelligent grid or energy management technologies.

Structural Engineer

The client is a rapidly growing, global solar technology company that provides leading-edge technology to utility-scale solar projects.  

The Structural Engineer will provide structural design of systems from conceptual design to project closeout; working closely with structural engineering consultants to produce a final design package and support project engineering in project development and execution. They will manage day to day issues on utility scale PV projects from the development stage to construction support. The position will manage all decisions relating to Structural Engineering for the company’s projects including but not limited to: wind load calculations, steel design and component sizing, foundation sizing, and various other structural engineering tasks and decisions to support project quoting and calculation packages.  

Duties and responsibilities 

  • Produce civil and structural design documentation, including drawings and calculations. 
  • Assist in project development phase; review pertinent site information, calculations and cost estimation.  
  • Produce civil and structural design documentation, drawings, and calculations. 
  • Prepare wind, seismic, foundation, and other structural calculations and sign/seal those if required  
  • Provide construction support; RFIs and submittals. 
  • Coordinate with the company’s Structural/Civil Engineers in other regions to create and update structural and civil standards, specifications, templates, and design tools. 
  • Manage schedule and review structural and civil engineering consultants’ works. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.  
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering standards, codes and other applicable State and Federal guidelines including but not limited to BCA, AS 1170.2, AS 4100, AS 2159, AS2041, IBC, ASCE, AISC. 
  • Proficiency in finite element software (RISA, STAAD, or equivalent) and analysis. 
  • Registered CPEng, RPEQ preferred.  
  • Structural engineering work experience in the EPC industry. 
  • A significant portion of work experience in structural design, including dead, live, snow, wind, and seismic loads, the design of steel and concrete structures, and development of construction documents.  
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Lpile/Allpile and other structural analysis software. 
  • Self-motivated team player. 
  • Passion for solar a plus.

The Energy Strategy Consultant will partner with CEO and Board level customers and provide them with five to ten-year strategic plans as well as expert advice on new technologies and business models to enable them to better manage their energy use and to reduce energy costs. This is considered a rainmaker role where you will be expected to win engagements from your own network.

The implementation of the recommendations of these strategic consulting engagements provides opportunities for the division to deliver projects across a growing range of energy solutions products and services, such as lighting, energy efficiency software and data analytics, power factor correction, demand response, solar, network tariff optimisation and on-bill financing.

You will need to have:

  • Previous experience in providing strategic advice to CEO and Board level customers on energy management and technologies.
