Technical Writer

A Technical Writer is required for a rapidly growing renewable energy technology business. They are set to revolutionise the large-scale solar industry and have global growth ambitions.

Their unique approach requires their deployment partners to be trained and certified. The Technical Writer will be responsible for writing training material and deployment manual content and collating this, and other documentation (specifications, bills of materials), ensuring it is prepared in the correct formats and stored in the document library.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal staff to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product, deployment processes and techniques.
  • Facilitate discussions to assist staff in the articulation of required information or preparation of draft content.
  • Work with the Training Manager and other management team members to identify and specify the documentation requirements.
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards, selecting language and tone that will be understood by and appropriate to the target audience.
  • Manage and maintain the document library.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent, or further education in Professional Writing and Editing.
  • Proven working experience in technical writing of training material, instruction manuals, user guides or similar.
  • Ability to deliver high quality documentation written in a variety of styles for varied audiences.
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures.
  • Exceptional cultural adaptability to enable effective information gathering from a diverse range of staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Framemaker and an LMS, ideally Adobe Captivate Prime.
  • Experience from the construction, solar or wind industries is desirable.
  • Some experience of arranging or managing language translation to Mandarin, Cantonese or Spanish would be highly regarded.
  • Willingness to travel internationally or to remote sites.
  • Valid Australian work rights.

Construction Training Manager

Sydney, NSW

A Construction Training Manager is required for a rapidly growing renewable energy technology business. They are set to revolutionise the large-scale solar industry and have global growth ambitions.

Their unique approach requires their deployment partners to be trained and certified. The Training Manager will be responsible for developing and managing the training program for all on-site partner workers, including a process for assessment and certification.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a training needs analysis for all construction site worker roles.
  • Liaise internally with subject matter experts to source and create training material content, including materials for on-site use such as work instructions and relevant content for pre-start and weekly toolbox meetings, inductions and OH&S and Quality measures.
  • Develop the training program for all on-site workers that includes learning objectives, training materials, delivery methods, delivery plan and evaluation.
  • Develop a certification process that includes valid and reliable test measures with appropriate certification recognition collateral.
  • Ensure the Learning Management System is maintained at all times and users are trained.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Training & Development or Vocational Education, or a construction industry background with training qualifications such as Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
  • Preferably a a current Driver’s Licence, Construction Industry Safety Awareness Training Card (White Card) and a Forklift license.
  • Experience in designing and delivering training content in a construction or logistics related environment.
  • Previous work history within construction or similar background.
  • Knowledge and previous exposure to OH&S and Quality management systems and standards.
  • Previous experience using Adobe Captivate Prime or other LMS.
  • Valid Australian work rights.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

The Sales Engineer, based in Melbourne, will create long-term, trusting relationships with customers to develop customised and holistic energy strategies through the Engineering team and to oversee a portfolio of assigned customers and develop new business from both new and existing clients.

Responsible for opportunity origination, development, proposal creation and conversion of Engineering opportunities, developing and maintaining a sales pipeline as required to meet the sales targets and harvest the portfolio for opportunities for account growth and new business.

The Product Development Engineering Manager is responsible for ensuring products are ready commercially on time, on quality and on budget, by managing a team of engineers and technicians, based on requirements from Product Managers. This applies to multiple product lines. 

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Monitor all activities for product development, prepare and manage project schedule. 
  • Manage a team of engineers and technicians to deliver projects. 
  • Coordinate with various departments and manage engineeringproduct development and industrialisation processes for new products. 
  • Supervise all functional and mechanical specification processes of new products. 
  • Monitor all mechanical specifications for products; evaluate its costs to ensure achievement of all objectives.

Key requirements include: 

  • Mechanical Engineering degree, with Masters level preferred.  
  • Product development experience from heavy industry, automotive or similar.  
  • Engineering Change Process management experience. 
  • Experience of product architecture standardisation. 
  • Project Management: Agile, SCRUMGANTT and GTD project management methods   
  • Ideally experience with ERPs and PLM software, such as Windchill.

Management Accountant (Contract)

A Management Accountant is required for an immediate start on a 6month contract for a rapidly growing renewable energy technology business.  

The Management Accountant will analyse key financial information to provide feedback that will support the Head of Finance and the executive team in planning and commercial decision making to ensure future growth and profitability. They will also identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve processes. 

As the business is an early stage company, other transactional accounting responsibilities will fall to the Management Accountant.  

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Maintain and analyse the General Ledger to provide financial analysis and forecasting in support of business and strategic planning. 
  • Create financial statements for internal and external company requirements.
  • Complete all tax-related material.
  • Provide advice and improve processes to improve the rigour of internal staff record keeping for bookkeeping. 
  • Maintain staff remuneration information.
  • Maintain accurate management information via Xero and Odoo.
  • Manage Accounts Payable and some Accounts Receivable tasks, accounts reconciliation, maintain the General Ledger and complete bookkeeping tasks.
  • Supporting finance migration project, from Xero to Odoo 

 Requirements: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. 
  • Previous experience as a financial accountant as well as some experience as a financial analyst or management accountant.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.

Commercial Solar Electrician 

Melbourne, VIC

A Commercial Solar Electrician (Supervisor) is required for an awardwinning solar energy companthat is recognized for excellence and their customer first ethos. They have a value driven approach and a commitment to quality and the provision of a holistic approach to energy management. 

The Solar Electrician is responsible for the coordination of activities associated with site installations and maintenance, as well as provides pre-sales and post-installation support to internal and external stakeholders. 

This role ensures projects are completed on time and on budget, ensuring best-practice quality and highlevel customer satisfaction and provides leadership to ensure HSEQ and legal compliance at all times. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Carry out on-site maintenance of solar PV/storage systems, electrical upgrades and other standard commercial and residential electrical work. 
  • Conduct pre-sales site inspections with sales teams to assist and ensure accurate technical scoping of projects.  
  • Conduct OHS on-site inspections and progress reports during installation stage 
  • Monitor and assess quality of solar PV/storage installations carried out by installers and contractors  
  • Maintain strong understanding of requirements and best practice relating to solar PV design and installations and implement changes when necessary to ensure installations meet standards. 
  • Ensure all VIC commercial projects are completed on time and budget, with all tasks included and executed as per project plan  
  • Prepare and/or coordinate preparation of all pre-installation and post-installation documentation for installers and the client 

 They are looking for someone with: 

  • An A Grade Electrical License and a drivers license 
  • CEC accreditation  
  • Experience of solar system installation or commercial & industrial electrical experience  
  • Preferably a White Card and Working at Heights certification 
  • Forklift license desirable 
  • High level of computer literacy 
  • Effective leadership and supervisory skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
