A Software Development Manager is required for an innovative electricity retail business for commercial and industrial customers. They enable their customers to connect to the wholesale market with alternate ways to buy electricity.   

The Software Development Manager, based in Melbourne, will map out, coordinate, and oversee the activities for the design, development, and execution of the company’s database and information systems and software applications. Responsible for the maintenance, support, and upgrading of existing hardware and applications. 

The key responsibilities will be: 

  • Perform design and development of assigned software related projects 
  • Research technologies and incorporates them into systems 
  • Test, integrate, write, troubleshoot, and debug software applications 
  • Review, interpret, and execute software requirements and specifications 
  • Manage and lead the department in line with companywide goals

They are looking for someone with: 

  • Development and design of software using latest version of Visual Studio in vb.net and C# 
  • Development and coding of microcontrollers including but not limited to Arduino 
  • Creating design specifications for software 
  • Writing code to a design specification 
  • Diagnosing existing software to effectively correct and improve code 
  • Programming in JavaScript and html coding using Microsoft asp.net and IIS server 
  • Developing robust testing techniques ensuring design integrity

Chief Financial Officer

The Chief Financial Officer, based in Melbourne, is responsible for the development and implementation of administration, financial and risk management operations for the business. Other responsibilities including the development of financial and operational strategy, financial reporting and the ongoing development and monitoring of financial and asset control systems.

  • Develops and implements financial strategies and financial budgets to support the company’s operations and strategic objectives.

Energy Engineer – Demand Response VIC

An Energy Engineer is required for a wholesale electricity retailer that connects its customers to the wholesale market and provides an alternate way for businesses to buy electricity. 

The Energy Engineer will be responsible for the management of Demand Response (DR) systems and communicating with participating customers, as well as supporting DR Duty Managers during market events.   

The Energy Engineer will: 

  • Manage and program coordination of RERT, ARENA and critical peak demand 
  • Manage the tender process, customer contracts, signing customers up for RERT 
  • Manage DR Duty Managers, including training them in the use of the system and managing the DR duty calendar to ensure adequate staffing 
  • Ensure customers are setup and configured for DR systems and aware of their responsibilities 
  • Oversee the installation, configuration and setup of intelligent controllers  
  • Manage AEMO and market participants as required 

Previous Demand Response experience is not necessary, but a strong understanding of how the electricity market works with some program management experience is required.

The Product Development Engineering Manager is responsible for ensuring products are ready commercially on time, on quality and on budget, by managing a team of engineers and technicians, based on requirements from Product Managers. This applies to multiple product lines. 

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Monitor all activities for product development, prepare and manage project schedule. 
  • Manage a team of engineers and technicians to deliver projects. 
  • Coordinate with various departments and manage engineeringproduct development and industrialisation processes for new products. 
  • Supervise all functional and mechanical specification processes of new products. 
  • Monitor all mechanical specifications for products; evaluate its costs to ensure achievement of all objectives.

Key requirements include: 

  • Mechanical Engineering degree, with Masters level preferred.  
  • Product development experience from heavy industry, automotive or similar.

Solar Project Development Commercial Manager

The Solar Project Development Commercial Manager will manage the commercial, financial and legal aspects of projects for the Special Operations team. They will actively seek out new project opportunities for the team, typically in the commercial, off-grid/micro-grid or for embedded network markets. 

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • To identify new market opportunities for the business outside of utility-scale projects. 
  • Effectively pitch project opportunities to potential project site owners to establish the benefits of the business’ cutting-edge solutions.  
  • Collection and management of leads to identify potential sites. 
  • Project development and scoping, including liaison with technical and engineering teams. 
  • Deal structuring for individual projects, including those under the REC master contract 
  • Relationship management with multiple internal and external stakeholders 

 

Key requirements include: 

  • A Commercial, Business or Engineering degree. 
  • Significant business development and commercial project management skills.  
  • Commercial or project development experience from commercial solar, off-grid/micro-grid or embedded network markets 
  • A demonstrable track record as salesperson and influencer. 
  • A strong desire to drive innovative and disruptive projects.  
  • Strong relationship building and management skills 
  • Agility and willingness to travel, visit sites and do whatever is required to get things done – this is a working in the trenches role.
