An Industrial Business Development Manager is required for a turnkey energy efficiency and management business due to their recent success and growth. Working with large industrial businesses, they utilise data to help their customers make profit-critical decisions. They work closely with clients to analyse their sites’ energy data and leverage it to significantly drive down energy costs and price risk. 

The Industrial BDM will secure sales revenue in the Victorian region with a focus on engineering consulting, energy data analytical services and project services. The successful candidate will have responsibilities such as:

  • generating sales revenue 
  • providing key account management to designated key accounts 
  • managing a number of allocated strategic channels, such as technology suppliers, by servicing their relevant clients with our full range of services as appropriate. 
  • draft sales proposals, particularly for complex sales and larger procurement processes such as tenders, where required 

 They are looking for someone with: 

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, science or equivalent discipline 
  • Demonstrated experience selling complex technology solutions to large clients, preferably related to energy 
  • Excellent written skills and an ability to analyze technical data and to write clearly, succinctly and convincingly about complex concepts 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with respect to client relationships and working in a diverse team 
  • Willingness to travel to regional Victoria and interstate

Technical Support Specialist

Fleet Manager

A Systems Monitoring Manager is required for a renewable energy technology business. They are disrupting the smart home / IoT and renewable energy (solar + storage) space with their innovative product and leading-edge software.

Objectives:

  • Manage and maintain the fleet of the company’s systems installed in Australia and New Zealand, develop strategies and plan measures (e.g. deployment of software) and then engage with internal and external partners to deliver the solutions and control the outcomes

Senior Applications Engineer

Sydney, NSW

A Senior Applications Engineer is required for an innovative energy storage company. The successful candidate will be the primary owner of the technical relationship with associated companies in India. The role dovetails with that of the Business Development group for South Asia to ensure a productive and valuable partnership with an OEM partner. This is a hands-on technical role that includes design and guiding implementation of kW to MW scale energy storage systems.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Project/Systems Engineering to execute kW and MW scale battery energy storage projects from conceptual design to execution to commissioning including:
    • Gathering customer requirements and writing/reviewing project specifications – facility, control system, plant layout (controls), network architecture drawings, logic diagram, power distribution drawing, test procedures, hardware IO List,
  • Programming PLCs for auxiliary systems.
  • Perform integration testing of Battery Management Systems with Energy Management System/PCS over Modbus or CAN protocol
  • Perform factory acceptance test, site commissioning,and installation
  • Support customer for site issue resolution – primarily in India
  • Utilising the remote monitoring platform to ensure constant surveillance of connected systems’ performance and conformance to battery use rules, carrying out diagnostics and performing or prescribing rectifications as required
  • Set up or support the setup of customer internet connectivity for BESS monitoring, and resolve connectivity issues.

The candidate should have these essential qualifications, skills, and attributes:

  • Fluent in Hindi and English
  • Experience with PLC and HMI systems for automated control
  • Exposure to interfacing protocols Ethernet, Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU
  • Experience with Control Systems Programming & Commissioning
  • Experience with electrical single line diagrams and schematics
  • Experience with reviewing design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and other documentation pertinent to design/commissioning

System Test Lead

A System Test Lead is required for an innovative energy storage company. The successful candidate will have a key role in developing the critical capability of independent system testing within the Research and Development team.

Their focus will be functional testing of energy storage SCADA systems that run on a variety of platforms from Linux SBCs to PLCs and Cloud applications. They will collaborate with the development team on new platform and product development, as well as test update releases to systems that drive and provide visibility to customers’ mission critical energy storage systems. Responsibilities will include:

  • Development of test strategies and specifications
  • Hands-on execution of systematic testing
  • Development of test automation systems
  • Development of test and software quality processes.
  • Hiring and people management of a small test team

Required experience includes:

  • Exceptional skills and accomplishments in complex software and embedded system testing
  • Understanding machine interfaces to third-party systems (ex. Schneider Electric, Selectronic, Dynapower)
  • Creation of clear and actionable test results to support iterative development cycles
  • Automation skills including scripting languages such as Python
  • Experience using Robot test automation framework and Selenium web driver 

Experience in the following areas is highly desirable: 

  • Industrial control systems, electrical power and energy storage systems
  • Cloud systems such as AWS
  • Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Stash, Bamboo
  • Familiarity with PLCs as a device-under-test is desirable, but PLC programming experience is not required

Energy Management Team Leader

The Energy Management Team Leader manages a team of Engineers that provide a service utilising a data-receiving platform that takes inputs from the customer site’s processes and gives them next-day access to the data, which the engineers regularly review to monitor performance, identify issues and opportunities, and report back to the customer. 

Through this service, they provide clients with monthly energy use reports, and conduct regular reviews of client site energy performance. This process of reporting and review with clients builds customer site knowledge and relationships with clients and therefore enables them to identify opportunities for energy efficiency projects. 

The Energy Management Team Leaderwill be responsible for the daily management of the workflow for the team including the direct provision of services to specific customer sites.  They will also ensure that: 

  • agreed service levels are met and client requests are tracked and actioned 
  • projects are delivered within the time and budget requirements of the business with minimal guidance from the Engineering Director
