Structural Certification Manager

A Structural Certification Manager is required for an Australian technology business that is developing cutting-edge solutions that streamline and drastically reduce the cost of deploying largescale solar energy. 

The Structural Certification Manager will work with the R&D team to ensure that the design and structure of products and their respective materials are tested and certified in order to pass safety and durability requirements of the technology and go to market.  

This person will be very familiar with the technology to be able to work closely with the Product and Solutions team to define specificationfor new components and products and then validate the structural integrity of these. This person will also have experience with relevant industry standards and certification processes in order to put the products and their parts through the necessary processes to ensure they comply with local and international structural and safety requirements.  

Key requirements include: 

  • A Civil Engineering degree with Structural Engineering specialization 
  • CPEng certification 
  • Experience in structural engineering, preferably working with steel and concrete 
  • Experience with relevant industry standards and certification processes 
  • Project management experience to manage both structural validation processes and certification processes efficiently and effectively 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills  
  • Experience defining changing requirements in view of failed structural testing in order to source/re-design new materials/products to ensure improved structural integrity 

Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager will assist the commercial function of the company in converting large scale solar leads to sales in order to drive revenue and increase the company’s market share.  This person will identify and secure new business opportunities and manage relationships, contracting and sign-off of new projects.  

 

Key requirements include: 

  • An Engineering or other technical Degree with business development experience, or a Commerce or Business degree with experience of selling a technical product or service 
  • Experience working in the clean energy industry, preferably in large-scale solar  
  • Experience working autonomously in a start-up environment 
  • Experience tailoring contracts to prospective client needs 
  • Experience converting leads to grow company revenue 

Solution Architect

Sydney, NSW

A Solution Architect is required for an Australian technology business that is developing cutting edge solutions that streamline and drastically reduce the cost of deploying large scale solar energy. 

They are building an ecosystem of partners for the deployment of their technology and require a platform that will enable the integration of demand through to supply from these partners 

The Solution Architect will scope and oversee the development and implementation of the necessary systems to create the platform. This is a greenfield opportunity and the Solution Architect must be technology agnostic. They are responsible for making sure projects are completed on time and on budget, and once implemented, they will maintain systems and continuously find ways to improve these, in line with changing requirements within a growing company and a constantly evolving industry. They are also responsible for maintaining seamless connectivity between all company systems.   

 

Key requirements include: 

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related area with an MBA or Masters in Project Management being highly regarded 
  • Experience as Solution Architect building greenfield systems 
  • Broad based experience across business analysis, project management and systems or software engineering

Solar Project Manager

The Project Manager is responsible for the implementation of the project management systems that are required to support the effective delivery of projects, and to project manage the deployment of large-scale solar using the company’cutting-edge solution. 

 These projects, considered special operations, will be unique projects that the company will self-deploy, rather than via their network of partners.  

 Key requirements include: 

  • An Engineering Degree with a Project Management qualification. 
  • Project management experience of delivering large scale solar, or other complex infrastructure 
  • Broad project management experience from planning, procurement, resourcing, contract management, budget and schedule control 
  • Experience of project management software 
  • Flexibility and autonomy to thrive in a growing early stage business. 

 

Procurement Engineer

Sydney, NSW

A Procurement Engineer is required for an Australian technology business that is developing cutting edge solutions that streamline and drastically reduce the cost of deploying large scale solar energy. 

The Procurement Engineer will work with the R&D team to define specificationfor new components and products and will then manage the purchasing of these technical goods and services. They will use their very detailed knowledge of the equipment, materials and suppliers in the industry to evaluate suppliers and negotiate purchase agreements with them. They will also work with the supply chain team to ensure that purchased goods and services are delivered as promised. 

  

Key requirements include: 

  • An Engineering degree with CIPS  
  • Experience in engineering, procurement and operations  
  • Ability to analyze bills of material and drawings to understand key requirements  
  • Knowledge and direct experience in negotiating contracts and quotations with contract manufacturers and suppliers  
  • Ability to identify cost reduction opportunities   
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to challenge suppliers’ specifications and prices 
  • PLM experience  
  • Willingness to travel to inspect/assess suppliers  
  • Experience adapting to changing requirements in view of new product introductions and scaling phases  

Head of Global Supply Chain 

Sydney, NSW

Head of Global Supply Chain is required for an Australian technology business that is developing cutting-edge solutions that streamline and drastically reduce the cost of deploying large scale solar energy. 

 

The Head of Global Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s overall global supply chain and logistics strategy and operations in order to maximize the process efficiency and productivity. In addition, this person plays a crucial role in working with the Chief Ecosystem Officer in building an efficient, globally scalable ecosystem.  

 

Key requirements include: 

  • Degree or Master level education in Supply Chain Management, Finance or similar relevant field 
  • CSCPCPSM or CIPS qualification 
  • Significant experience managing global supply chain and logistics operations 
  • Experience with supply chains for engineered products 
  • Fluent or conversational Mandarin will be highly regarded 
  • Hands on experience with ERP, CRM or supply chain management software (SAP MM, Oracle SCM, Odoo)

An Industrial and Controls Technician is required for an innovative electricity retail business for commercial and industrial customers. They enable their customers to connect to the wholesale market with alternate ways to buy electricity.

The Industrial and Controls Technician, based in Melbourne, will be responsible for installation of control systems into customer sites as well as feedback to the development team for future enhancements of the control system. This feedback is a crucial aspect of the role, working with software designers and hardware engineers to scope and define controller functionality to ensure reliable operation and control of onsite power generation as well as to advise on scalability and efficiency of installations.

They will also support the engineering team with site audits and assessment for energy efficiency projects.

They are looking for someone with:

  • A Grade Electrical License.
  • Experience of the installation and commissioning of control systems for power generation.
  • Knowledge of communications protocols, specifically, Modbus, RTU – TCP/IP
  • Experience with various PLCs programming/industrial SCADA systems, VSDs and electrical sensing and control equipment
  • Experience wiring and designing control and protection systems
  • Experience working with High Voltage systems and Utility Networks

The Sales Engineer, based in Melbourne, will create long-term, trusting relationships with customers to develop customised and holistic energy strategies through the Engineering team and to oversee a portfolio of assigned customers and develop new business from both new and existing clients.

Responsible for opportunity origination, development, proposal creation and conversion of Engineering opportunities, developing and maintaining a sales pipeline as required to meet the sales targets and harvest the portfolio for opportunities for account growth and new business.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to create required models, reports and processes to support evidence-based decision making and improved financial outcomes. The successful candidate will also collect and interpret complex data and present clear and concise insights.

The key responsibilities will be:

  • Market Intelligence – Design and establish appropriate models, reports and processes with guidance / support from management;
  • Product Analysis – Track and measure the performance of products and solutions in the context of the company’s financial objectives;
  • Client Insights – Work with internal energy market and engineering specialists to understand key risks and opportunities for new and existing customers;
  • Quality Assurance – Continually review and develop business systems and processes to deliver consistent & high-quality standards.

  • Relevant degree in statistics, commerce, economics, finance or mathematics;
  • Strong capability in market research and associated qualitative analysis and presentation of statistical data;

The Sales Consultant, based in Melbourne, will be generating sales opportunities from large energy users in the C&I market through renewable Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) that deliver cheaper electricity and then firming contracts for the balance. This offering is supported by providing transparency and control to the customer of their electricity use through live data feeds, alerts and automation.  

The key responsibilities will be: 

  • Winning new business from large C&I customers

  • Strategy / M&A / Channel Development

 They are looking for someone with: 

  • Minimum VCE or equivalent with a relevant degree desirable

Commercial and Investment Director, Power Generation

Melbourne, VIC

A Commercial and Investment Director, Power Generation is required to grow the power generation portfolio for this independent power producer. They will be expected to lead and support new power generation asset investment initiatives already underway and proposed in Australia as well as support the construction and operation team in respect of existing projects. They will manage and/or support the commercial and investment aspects of the project portfolio across the investment cycle from acquisition, development, financing, construction and operation, with a focus on renewable energy and gas fired power generation projects.

The Director’s responsibilities will be:

  • Project management of acquisition opportunities/divestments including due diligence and negotiation of sale and purchase agreements and shareholder agreements
  • Coordination of the structuring and price setting process for bids to potential off-takers
  • Preparation, structuring and execution of financing/refinancing plans for existing and new projects on a portfolio or individual basis including leading negotiations with banks/financial institutions
  • Risk allocation, bankability, optimisation & tax structuring for existing/new projects
  • Maintain and develop existing relationships with debt providers, potential investors, potential off-takers, EPC contractors, distribution companies, landholders and governments
  • Oversight of the valuation/financial analysis of existing development projects/new investments
  • Preparation of investment cases with supporting analysis, and preparation of presentation and investment memorandums for approval of senior management, board and shareholder investment committees and management of the approval process.
  • Supervision and mentoring of financial analysts within the commercial and investment team, growing the team as appropriate
