Renewable Energy Data Analyst
Sydney, NSW

The client is a global leader in utility scale renewable energy project development and they are looking to hire a Data Analyst to support the business in the analysis of customer’s energy cost drivers to enable them to develop optimised solutions to address consumption and pricing inefficiencies.

The Data Analyst will build databases, analyse data and design creative control algorithms and solutions to customer problems. In addition, they will take a forward-looking market view and help to determine feasible revenue streams by conducting theoretical modelling to support business strategy and expertise development.

Specifically, the role will involve:

  • Designing and optimizing control algorithms to provide the service building on the Python based API,
  • Modelling of prospective solutions using time series techniques,
  • Optimally sizing the offering and provide yearly performance metrics,
  • Utilisation of meaningful data visualisation methods to articulate the problem-solution evolution and net value benefits,
  • Use of commercial needs as a driving force to build code bases which can be applied to different opportunities in the future.

For this role, you will need:

  • Degree in Engineering, Maths or another technical field.
  • Experience with SQL, Python and scientific packages NumPy, Pandas and SciPy.
  • Demonstrated diverse data side ETL strategies including webscraping and API usage.
  • Strong BI, analytics, and visualisation experience.
  • Experience in timeseries modelling and algorithm development.
  • Cloud deployment experience is an advantage.
  • Understanding of the Australian electricity energy markets is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of solar, wind and the technical modelling surrounding them is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills; including report writing and presentations.
  • Creativity in a field which is new and rapidly evolving.
  • Ability to adapt to commercial needs.
  • The legal right to work in Australia.

This opportunity is based in Sydney, NSW and will require some travel within Australia.

CAD Drafter

A CAD Drafter is required for a leading global renewable energy company. The company focuses on renewable power generation through wind and solar energy technologies, as well as energy storage, transmission, and demand side management technologies.

Based in Sydney, this is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to join a highly experienced team that includes specialists in developing, engineering, constructing and connecting renewable energy projects.

The CAD Drafter will:

  • Produce high quality and accurate drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Esri ArcGIS.
  • Collate and manage site specific data.
  • Update and maintain project specific Geodatabases and other business support databases.

You will need:

  • Recognised qualifications incorporating technical and planning drafting.
  • Tertiary degree qualification advantageous.
  • Some experience in a similar position is preferable.
  • Drafting principles and experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Knowledge of Geospatial principals, technologies and practice.
  • Esri Arc GIS knowledge.

Project Civil Engineer

A Project Civil Engineer is required for a leading global renewable energy company to provide civil engineering advice and prepare preliminary designs during the project development phase of renewable energy projects.

This company focuses on renewable power generation through wind and solar energy technologies, as well as energy storage, transmission, and demand side management technologies.

The Project Civil Engineer will:

  • Work with project delivery teams in all areas relating to engineering design and construction suitability of utility scale wind, solar or battery storage projects and grid connection infrastructure.
  • Deliver all civil and site engineering assessments including topographical surveys, geotechnical assessments, construction feasibility, infrastructure design, access assessments, drainage and sediment control design.
  • Manage external contractors carrying out site surveys and geotechnical assessments.

You will need:

  • Civil Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Some experience of multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering aspects of onshore wind farm and solar energy project in Australia.
  • Highway design experience is desirable.
  • Ability to travel to construction sites across Australia.

The Business Development Manager will:

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities for Asset Management of utility scale wind, solar and energy storage projects for both construction (EPCM) and O&M services.
  • Lead in the development of a marketing plan.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships including preparing and delivering presentations.
  • Lead the preparation of bids.
  • Attend, and present at, relevant conferences and other public events to enhance the company profile in the market.

You will need:

  • A degree in business management, engineering, or equivalent qualification.
    Experience in planning and delivering business development and selling services in a B2B environment.
  • Experience of working within the Australian renewable energy (utility scale wind, solar and energy storage) sector.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly for leading tenders and for presenting services, presentations and written proposals.
  • Strong numerical analysis skills for developing cost models for delivering technical services under long term contracts.

Construction Project Manager

A Construction Project Manager is required for a leading global renewable energy company to support the preparation, delivery and completion of the construction phase of utility-scale renewable energy projects in Australia.

Based in Sydney, this is an exciting opportunity to join a highly experienced team that includes specialists in developing, engineering, constructing and connecting renewable energy projects.

The Construction Project Manager will:

  • Manage construction aspects of utility-scale renewable energy projects from notice to proceed to handover to generation.
  • Inspire and empower site teams to work collaboratively and take personal responsibility for delivering the projects.
  • Provide specialist and technical knowledge relating to construction at project delivery level.
  • Manage all contractual obligations and processes within EPC and grid connections contracts including HSQE, milestones, programming, payments, variations, performance guarantees, completion testing and handover to generation.
  • Prepare construction budget, management of construction costs, forecasting cost to completion on a monthly basis and client reporting.
  • Manage coordination of key completion milestone events.

You will need:

  • Construction management, engineering or science degree or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant experience of managing both site and project construction teams.
  • Demonstrable experience in successfully managing and delivering projects within resource and budget constraints.
  • Detailed knowledge of renewable energy construction processes encompassing civil, equipment and electrical engineering.
  • Leadership skills within the context of construction sites.
  • Effective negotiation skills, with experience of negotiating in a commercial or engineering environment.

This opportunity is based in Sydney, NSW with regular attendance at construction sites across Australia. Home working can be considered.

Head of Energy Storage

A Head of Energy Storage is required for a leading global renewable energy company to identify new opportunities for utility-scale energy storage projects in the Australian market and set the strategic direction and business priorities for the Energy Storage team.

This will involve:

  • Developing a strategic plan and articulating the business objectives of the energy storage division;
  • Establishing the company as a leading provider of large scale energy storage solutions in the Australian market;
  • Leading energy storage development projects and liaising with partners and stakeholders to deliver those projects.
