An OH&S and Quality Manager is required for a listed energy business that is pursuing a growth and diversification strategy. Some recent technology company acquisitions have made significant contributions to their growing energy solutions suite. They have a large client base of energy customers who will be receptive to the broader energy solutions they can now provide.

You will be required to ensure that third party vendors and contractors will meet and comply with the current legislation as well as the company’s OH&S requirements and framework. In addition, you will ensure a clear and defined OH&S framework is in place for the Energy Solutions delivery model which will feed into to an overall corporate framework.

The OH&S and Quality Manager will also be responsible for training the broader team in Energy Solutions on the latest OH&S requirements, policy and corporate changes as well as assist in designing and maintaining the day to day Quality Systems, processes and improvement framework

You will need:

  • A background in large organizations where high standards of OH&S and Quality Management was maintained.
  • A track record of delivering and maintaining a rigid OH&S framework in a similar size business and industry.
  • Further education, ideally tertiary level qualification, in OH&S and Quality Systems.

Land & Property Manager

A Property Manager is required for a leading global renewable energy company to be responsible for providing property advice to the company’s Development Project Managers and Head of Development.

This company focuses on renewable power generation through wind and solar energy technologies, as well as energy storage, transmission, and demand side management technologies.

Based in Sydney, this is an exciting opportunity to join a highly experienced team that includes specialists in developing, engineering, constructing and connecting renewable energy projects.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Providing property advice to the company’s Development Project Managers and Head of Development.
  • Negotiating and concluding appropriate property rights for the Company’s renewable energy developments.
  • Liaising with and providing instructions to internal and external solicitors and agents.
  • Supporting the due diligence and financial close process for all aspects of property.
  • Supporting new sites selection work from a property perspective, including searches for land, rights and licences.
  • Liaising with landowners and external legal advisors in a professional manner in line with the company core values.
  • Developing expert property knowledge for the business and keeping abreast of new legal and property matters.
  • In addition, the role holder will be expected to develop some wind farm projects as a Project Development Manager.

Requirements:

  • A degree or relevant qualification in legal, property, land or estates management.
  • Some experience in property acquisition including leases, development and/or Landlord & Tenant negotiations with a focus on rural / utilities property assets.
  • Familiarity with property law and documentation.
  • Knowledge of renewables, specifically wind energy or conventional power generation is preferred, but not essential, if transferable skills can be demonstrated.
  • Ability to work independently and to take responsibility to deliver results.
  • Excellent communication and commercial negotiation skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, experience with GIS software is desirable.
  • The ability to travel as required throughout Australia.

Specifically, the Energy Storage Business & Market Development Manager will:

  • Support the Head of Energy Storage with the formulation of the Energy Storage Business Development strategy.
  • Conduct market mapping and scanning activities to generate energy storage opportunities with new and existing clients.
  • Contribute to new product development and localisation of the energy storage innovation road map.
  • Work with solar and wind project development teams to ensure energy storage solutions are incorporated into hybrid projects as appropriate.

Preferred requirements include:

  • An Engineering degree and MBA are preferred but not required.

  • Experience of crafting and closing complex solution sales in, preferably, intelligent grid or energy management technologies.

Contract & Procurement Manager

Solar Development and Delivery Project Engineer

A Project Engineer is required for a leading Australian renewable energy company to support the Project Manager in all phases of the accelerated development and construction of a 210MW solar farm.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an Australian company who is developing innovative and sustainable energy technologies and providing end-to-end solutions that deliver renewable energy generation through new and reformed power networks.

The Project Engineer will liaise between the Project Manager and the technical aspects of the project, providing a technical to commercial coverage and alignment for the project. Assisting in project controls is a key part of the role, including budgeting, scheduling and planning. The Project Engineer will need to understand the EPC schedule in depth, so scheduling expertise is essential.

The Project Engineer will be responsible for:

• Scoping, soliciting proposals, engaging (including any commercial review requirements), and managing technical and specialist consultants.

• Identifying and compiling budget requirements and tracking commitments and costs for technical and engineering project activities.

• Identifying tasks and dependencies for engineering and technical project activities and helping to track progress of these.

• Assisting contract management for the engineering and technical aspects of large delivery projects under EPCM or EPC arrangements, including management of associated Owner’s Engineering consultant assistance and oversight.

• Providing ad hoc technical investigations and engineering with rapid turnaround to supplement available and provided information, and to provide high level guidance for the project team.

You will need:

• Good process related discipline and skills to utilise process to drive delivery and outcomes.

• Strong expertise of scheduling especially within accelerated project timelines.

• Good communication skills with an ability to work and collaborate across a relatively broad range of business disciplines to coordinate and capture requirements.

• A background in electrical engineering is desirable.

• Experience in the power or oil & gas industries in Australia.

• The legal right to work in Australia.

Ideally the role would be Adelaide based, however a Melbourne base is an option during development. The construction phase will need to be Adelaide based.

Structural Engineer

The client is a rapidly growing, global solar technology company that provides leading-edge technology to utility-scale solar projects.  

The Structural Engineer will provide structural design of systems from conceptual design to project closeout; working closely with structural engineering consultants to produce a final design package and support project engineering in project development and execution. They will manage day to day issues on utility scale PV projects from the development stage to construction support. The position will manage all decisions relating to Structural Engineering for the company’s projects including but not limited to: wind load calculations, steel design and component sizing, foundation sizing, and various other structural engineering tasks and decisions to support project quoting and calculation packages.  

Duties and responsibilities 

  • Produce civil and structural design documentation, including drawings and calculations. 
  • Assist in project development phase; review pertinent site information, calculations and cost estimation.  
  • Produce civil and structural design documentation, drawings, and calculations. 
  • Prepare wind, seismic, foundation, and other structural calculations and sign/seal those if required  
  • Provide construction support; RFIs and submittals. 
  • Coordinate with the company’s Structural/Civil Engineers in other regions to create and update structural and civil standards, specifications, templates, and design tools. 
  • Manage schedule and review structural and civil engineering consultants’ works. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.  
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering standards, codes and other applicable State and Federal guidelines including but not limited to BCA, AS 1170.2, AS 4100, AS 2159, AS2041, IBC, ASCE, AISC. 
  • Proficiency in finite element software (RISA, STAAD, or equivalent) and analysis. 
  • Registered CPEng, RPEQ preferred.  
  • Structural engineering work experience in the EPC industry. 
  • A significant portion of work experience in structural design, including dead, live, snow, wind, and seismic loads, the design of steel and concrete structures, and development of construction documents.  
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Lpile/Allpile and other structural analysis software. 
  • Self-motivated team player.
