Contracts Manager

A Contracts Manager is required for this global technology leader in large scale solar energy projects. They are expanding their Australian operation and are looking for a Contracts Manager to support the Australian Managing Director.

The Contracts Manager will:

  • Take ownership of contract management for the Australian business
    Coordinate with clients regarding industry standards
  • Coordinate with the procurement and legal teams, especially the Global General Counsel
  • Negotiate terms, conditions and pricing, and ensure they are accurately executed and satisfied, referring to MD and GC for approval
  • Report status of current contract processes to management
  • Resolve any existing contract conflicts
  • Serve as a liaison between internal and external parties during contract development and negotiation stages
  • Analyze potential risks that contract changes may pose to the company

They are looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience as a Contracts Administrator or Manager from infrastructure construction (energy, mining), ideally with some experience of renewables
  • Knowledge of Construction Industry codes (eg AS 4911)
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate across all levels

Data Scientist

A Data Scientist is required for a wholesale electricity retailer that connects its customers to the wholesale market and provides an alternate way for businesses to buy electricity.

This role will be responsible for creating forecasting tools / algorithms that utilise data such as spot market, dispatch load, weather etc. to attempt to estimate electricity price movements to enable their customers to make more informed purchasing decisions.

The Data Scientist will:

  • Work with predictive models;
  • Implement time-series forecasting;
  • Manage data sets.

This role will be responsible for supporting sales productivity and deal flow by securing the technical close in complex solutions. Business Development Manager – Sydney

A Business Development Manager is required for an innovative electricity retail business for commercial and industrial customers. They enable their customers to connect to the wholesale market with alternate ways to buy electricity.

The Business Development Manager, based in Sydney, is part of the National Sales team and will generate sales opportunities from large energy users in the C&I market. They are on a significant growth path and the role requires a solution seller with experience in building senior level B2B relationships. 

Specifically, the BDM will: 

  • Undertake direct sales to larges corporates for PPAs and develop a prospect list that results in meeting sales targets 
  • Target suitable industry segments and key decision makers at the C-Level in the target corporate.  
  • Develop and maintain a sales pipeline as is required to meet the sales targets  
  • Attend meetings, seminars and conferences relevant to target market 
  • Develop proposals and presentations suitable for CEO/CFO level  
  • Develop new and existing sales channels for the business through, partnerships, contractors, marketing companies and other industry contacts 
  • Develop and maintain a sales and market plan that identifies the targets and provides a clear strategy on how to attain them  
  • Undertake competitor and risk analysis, identify white spots in the market, products and solutions 

The BDM will: 

  • Have demonstrated experience in a B2B sales environment 
  • Have proven ability to drive sales and generate new business 
  • Relevant industry experience ideally gained from a competitor business

Account Manager

The Account Manager, based in Melbourne, is part of the Account Management team and will create long-term, trusting relationships with customers. The Account Manager’s role is to oversee a portfolio of assigned customers, develop new business from existing clients and actively seek new sales opportunities. 

Specifically, the Account Manager will: 

  • Be responsible for the account management of assigned clients 
  • Be responsible for all client communications, conflict resolution, and compliance on client deliverables and revenue 
  • Ensure that client issues are dealt with in an efficient manner, informing the operations manager of any problems that may arise 
  • Be responsible for contract and contract renewals for new work for an existing client 
  • Work with the Engineering department to identify opportunities to provide customers with energy solutions like: Generators, Solar, Power Factor and Lighting solutions. 
  • Ensure that all processes and procedures are completed, quality standards are met, and that projects are implemented in a timely manner and are profitable 
  • Harvest portfolio for opportunities for account growth and new business 
  • Prepare and develop customised proposals 
  • Provide regular two-way communication between the client and operations team, to provide strong team representation and set proper client expectations 
  • Understanding of company capabilities, business model and service, and effectively communicates all offerings to the client 

The Account Manager will:

Based in Sydney, this is an exciting opportunity to join a highly experienced team that includes specialists in developing, engineering, constructing and connecting renewable energy projects.

Specifically, the Contract & Procurement Manager will:

  • Lead all negotiations for the procurement of construction or asset management related contracts.
  • Support complex contract negotiations with clients and/or project equity & debt providers and provide contract commercial management support to the business.
  • Support Project Managers in any supplier & contractor claims management and dispute resolution.
  • Supervise the definition of the procurement strategy for each project ensuring promotion of LCOE reduction, sustainability, local content and best in class health & safety.
  • Work with Global Strategic Procurement Director to develop sustainability strategies for the Australian supply chain and implementation of the same to manage key supplier relationships to deliver optimal performance in cost, service & quality.

You will need:

  • Degree level qualification and relevant professional qualification e.g. CPEng, MAIQS or MBA.
  • Proven track record of negotiating high value multi-disciplinary EPC contracts.
  • Excellent communication skills, confident operating at senior level and presenting complex analytical data.
  • Commercial management including the administration of construction contracts.

While a team of Developers is expected to work across the stack, this person’s specific expertise will mean each Developer in the team will focus on one or more of the following:

  • Development of world-leading IoT solutions using C#, .NET Core, .NET Standard and Azure IoT Hub based on a lambda architecture.

OR

  • Design and development of great looking public-facing web solutions using ASP.NET MVC, C# and SQL Azure and open source frameworks.
  • Work with the user experience team to design and build solutions with a modern and compelling customer experience.

OR

  • Development of great mobile applications using Xamarin Forms.

All Developers will:

  • Deliver unit and integration tests in a fully automated environment.

The General Manager Australia provides day-to-day leadership and management to the business that is internally and externally aligned with the company’s overall strategic vision, Core Principles, Mission, short-term/long- term goals, risk profile and policies.  

The business is a strongly values driven company with a focus of being the best, not the biggest. The General Manager must have an in depth understanding and belief in these values.    

The GM Australia will ensure the growth of the Australian business, be responsible for the overall P&L and financial management, business development and commercial negotiations, strategic leadership, sustainable operations, safety, partnership management and the overall success of the business.  

The role is Sydney-based and they will offer relocation to the right candidate. 

Required knowledge, skills and abilities include:

Solar Development and Delivery Project Engineer

A Solar Development and Delivery Project Engineer is required for a leading Australian renewable energy company to support the Project Manager in all phases of the accelerated development and construction of a 210MW solar farm.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an Australian company who is developing innovative and sustainable energy technologies and providing end-to-end solutions that deliver renewable energy generation through new and reformed power networks.

The Project Engineer will liaise between the Project Manager and the technical aspects of the project, providing a technical to commercial coverage and alignment for the project. Assisting in project controls is a key part of the role, including budgeting, scheduling and planning. The Project Engineer will need to understand the EPC schedule in depth, so scheduling expertise is essential.

The Project Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Scoping, soliciting proposals, engaging (including any commercial review requirements), and managing technical and specialist consultants.
  • Identifying and compiling budget requirements and tracking commitments and costs for technical and engineering project activities.
  • Identifying tasks and dependencies for engineering and technical project activities and helping to track progress of these.
  • Assisting contract management for the engineering and technical aspects of large delivery projects under EPCM or EPC arrangements, including management of associated Owner’s Engineering consultant assistance and oversight.
  • Providing ad hoc technical investigations and engineering with rapid turnaround to supplement available and provided information, and to provide high level guidance for the project team.

You will need:

  • Good process related discipline and skills to utilise process to drive delivery and outcomes.
  • Strong expertise of scheduling especially within accelerated project timelines.
  • Good communication skills with an ability to work and collaborate across a relatively broad range of business disciplines to coordinate and capture requirements.
  • A background in electrical engineering is desirable.
  • Experience in the power or oil & gas industries in Australia.
  • The legal right to work in Australia.

Ideally the role would be Adelaide based, however a Melbourne base is an option during development. The construction phase will need to be Adelaide based.

This role will be responsible for taking charge of and improving the design and application of new and existing control system technologies, as well as managing the implementation of these technologies when integrating with various renewable energy sources.

The Control Systems Engineer will:

  • Select or design and program control system technologies for integration with renewable energy sources, including parameterising, system integration and testing, and on-site commissioning of commercial-scale power conversion and storage systems;

  • Develop multi-functional protection relays and PLCs;
