The Commercial Analyst, based in Melbourne, will improve sales execution through research and analysis of markets, customers and products. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to create required models, reports and processes to support evidence-based decision making and improved financial outcomes. The successful candidate will also collect and interpret complex data and present clear and concise insights.

The key responsibilities will be:

  • Market Intelligence – Design and establish appropriate models, reports and processes with guidance / support from management;
  • Product Analysis – Track and measure the performance of products and solutions in the context of the company’s financial objectives;
  • Client Insights – Work with internal energy market and engineering specialists to understand key risks and opportunities for new and existing customers;
  • Quality Assurance – Continually review and develop business systems and processes to deliver consistent & high-quality standards.

They are looking for someone with:

  • Relevant degree in statistics, commerce, economics, finance or mathematics;
  • Strong capability in market research and associated qualitative analysis and presentation of statistical data;
  • Demonstrated strength in problem solving and analytics and capable of driving insight to action;
  • Strong presentation skills and outstanding communication both written and verbal;
  • Experience of financial analysis and reporting;
  • Ideally previous energy industry exposure;

Business Development Manager 

Brisbane, QLD

A Business Development Manager is required for an innovative electricity retail business for commercial and industrial customers. They enable their customers to connect to the wholesale market with alternate ways to buy electricity.    

The Business Development Manager, based in Brisbaneis part of the National Sales team and will be generating sales opportunities from large energy users in the C&I market through renewable Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) that deliver cheaper electricity and then firming contracts for the balance. This offering is supported by providing transparency and control to the customer of their electricity use through live data feeds, alerts and automation. They are on a significant growth path and the role requires a solution seller with experience in building senior level B2B relationships. 

Specifically, the BDM will: 

  • Undertake direct sales to larges corporates for PPAs and develop a prospect list that results in meeting sales targets 
  • Target suitable industry segments and key decision makers at the C-Level in the target corporate.  
  • Develop and maintain a sales pipeline as is required to meet the sales targets  
  • Attend meetings, seminars and conferences relevant to target market 
  • Develop proposals and presentations suitable for CEO/CFO level  
  • Develop new and existing sales channels for the business through, partnerships, contractors, marketing companies and other industry contacts 
  • Develop and maintain a sales and market plan that identifies the targets and provides a clear strategy on how to attain them

Commercial and Investment Director, Power Generation

Melbourne, VIC

A Commercial and Investment Director, Power Generation is required to grow the power generation portfolio for this independent power producer. They will be expected to lead and support new power generation asset investment initiatives already underway and proposed in Australia as well as support the construction and operation team in respect of existing projects. They will manage and/or support the commercial and investment aspects of the project portfolio across the investment cycle from acquisition, development, financing, construction and operation, with a focus on renewable energy and gas fired power generation projects.

The Director’s responsibilities will be:

  • Project management of acquisition opportunities/divestments including due diligence and negotiation of sale and purchase agreements and shareholder agreements
  • Coordination of the structuring and price setting process for bids to potential off-takers
  • Preparation, structuring and execution of financing/refinancing plans for existing and new projects on a portfolio or individual basis including leading negotiations with banks/financial institutions
  • Risk allocation, bankability, optimisation & tax structuring for existing/new projects
  • Maintain and develop existing relationships with debt providers, potential investors, potential off-takers, EPC contractors, distribution companies, landholders and governments
  • Oversight of the valuation/financial analysis of existing development projects/new investments
  • Preparation of investment cases with supporting analysis, and preparation of presentation and investment memorandums for approval of senior management, board and shareholder investment committees and management of the approval process.
  • Supervision and mentoring of financial analysts within the commercial and investment team, growing the team as appropriate
  • Negotiate and provide commercial support for the project arrangements/ documents such as EPC, O&M, PPA, connection and landholder agreements as required during development, and if requested by the operation and construction team, during project construction and operation

Solar PV System Engineer

A Solar PV System Engineer is required for a leading global solar module manufacturer with the purpose of meeting ambitious new national targets.

The successful candidate will provide internal and external support on product and technology aspects for the company’s product range.

The Solar PV System Engineer will:

  • Assist both engineering/product manager and sales team with preparing technical aspects of commercial project proposals;
  • Determine appropriate system design options (concept designs, options analysis, detailed design in accordance with relevant Australian Standard);
  • Work closely with our customers’ engineering and commercial teams to deliver design aspects for key projects;
  • Respond to technical enquiries from both end-consumers and direct customers (distributors, national retailers and installers);
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with installed systems, evaluate and facilitate warranty replacements, support in warranty and claim related inquiries from customers;

Your experience should include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering would be strongly preferred (Renewable Energy Engineering, Power Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering background).
  • Experience in the solar industry either with a manufacturer, distributor or retail business;
  • Strong hands-on experience in technical sales, product/technology training and aftersales support;
  • An understanding of photovoltaic modules, systems and inverters.

A System Test Lead is required for an innovative energy storage company. The successful candidate will have a key role in developing the critical capability of independent system testing within the Research and Development team.

Their focus will be functional testing of energy storage SCADA systems that run on a variety of platforms from Linux SBCs to PLCs and Cloud applications. They will collaborate with the development team on new platform and product development, as well as test update releases to systems that drive and provide visibility to customers’ mission critical energy storage systems. Required experience includes:
