Structural Engineer

The client is a rapidly growing, global solar technology company that provides leading-edge technology to utility-scale solar projects.  

The Structural Engineer will provide structural design of systems from conceptual design to project closeout; working closely with structural engineering consultants to produce a final design package and support project engineering in project development and execution. They will manage day to day issues on utility scale PV projects from the development stage to construction support. The position will manage all decisions relating to Structural Engineering for the company’s projects including but not limited to: wind load calculations, steel design and component sizing, foundation sizing, and various other structural engineering tasks and decisions to support project quoting and calculation packages.  

Duties and responsibilities 

  • Produce civil and structural design documentation, including drawings and calculations. 
  • Assist in project development phase; review pertinent site information, calculations and cost estimation.  
  • Produce civil and structural design documentation, drawings, and calculations. 
  • Prepare wind, seismic, foundation, and other structural calculations and sign/seal those if required  
  • Provide construction support; RFIs and submittals. 
  • Coordinate with the company’s Structural/Civil Engineers in other regions to create and update structural and civil standards, specifications, templates, and design tools. 
  • Manage schedule and review structural and civil engineering consultants’ works. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.  
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering standards, codes and other applicable State and Federal guidelines including but not limited to BCA, AS 1170.2, AS 4100, AS 2159, AS2041, IBC, ASCE, AISC. 
  • Proficiency in finite element software (RISA, STAAD, or equivalent) and analysis. 
  • Registered CPEng, RPEQ preferred.  
  • Structural engineering work experience in the EPC industry. 
  • A significant portion of work experience in structural design, including dead, live, snow, wind, and seismic loads, the design of steel and concrete structures, and development of construction documents.  
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Lpile/Allpile and other structural analysis software. 
  • Self-motivated team player. 
  • Passion for solar a plus.

Accounts Payable & Office Manager

The Accounts Payable & Office Manager will:

  • Manage all aspects of Accounts Payable including invoice recording, coding, verification for accuracy, and authorisations and reconciliations
  • Process invoice payments runs (twice per month), plus out of cycle payments
  • Reconcile company credit card on a monthly basis
  • Prepare payments in accordance with supplier payment terms and conditions
  • Reconcile supplier’s statements of account and follow up unpaid or overdue invoices
  • Promptly respond to queries from suppliers
  • Manage the Accounts Mailbox
  • Arrange credit facilities with suppliers
  • Collate timesheets on a monthly basis
  • Process personal expense claim forms
  • Reconcile petty cash statements and manage petty cash flow
  • Provide reception meet & greet of visitors, handling telephone enquiries to the office and overseeing e-mail enquires in the info mailbox
  • Co-ordinate cleaning, catering, security and general building maintenance services
  • Maintaining office supplies, stationery and grocery orders
  • Co-ordinate ordering and maintenance of office equipment
  • Co-ordinate social events
  • Manage account with Travel Agent
  • Organise courier / collection of post

 

You will need:

  • A strong background in office management and high-volume accounts payable
  • To be an Advanced user of MS Office
  • Experience with MYOB (or similar)
  • To be collaborative, proactive and able to work independently, taking ownership to deliver results
  • To be passionate and self-motivated
  • The ability to work in a small team and assist in other areas of accounts
  • To be able to organise, prioritise and multi-task
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills

Wind Farm Construction Project Manager

A Construction Project Manager is required for a leading global renewable energy company to support the preparation, delivery and completion of the construction phase of wind farm projects in Australia.

This company focuses on renewable power generation through wind and solar energy technologies, as well as energy storage, transmission, and demand side management technologies.

Based in Melbourne (ideally), this is an exciting opportunity to join a highly experienced team that includes specialists in developing, engineering, constructing and connecting renewable energy projects.

The Construction Project Manager will:

  • Manage construction aspects of wind farm projects from notice to proceed to handover to generation.
  • Inspire and empower site teams to work collaboratively and take personal responsibility for delivering the projects.
  • Provide specialist and technical knowledge relating to construction at project delivery level.
  • Manage all contractual obligations and processes within EPC and grid connections contracts including HSQE, milestones, programming, payments, variations, performance guarantees, completion testing and handover to generation.
  • Prepare construction budget, management of construction costs, forecasting cost to completion on a monthly basis and client reporting.
  • Manage coordination of key completion milestone events.

 

You will need:

  • Construction management, engineering or science degree or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant experience of managing both site and project construction teams.
  • Demonstrable experience in successfully managing and delivering Australian wind farm projects within resource and budget constraints.
  • Detailed knowledge of renewable energy construction processes encompassing civil, equipment and electrical engineering.
  • Leadership skills within the context of construction sites.
  • Effective negotiation skills, with experience of negotiating in a commercial or engineering environment.

This opportunity is ideally based in Melbourne, VIC (but other locations considered) with regular attendance at construction sites across Australia. Home working can be considered.

Senior Electronics Engineer

The Energy Strategy Consultant will partner with CEO and Board level customers and provide them with five to ten-year strategic plans as well as expert advice on new technologies and business models to enable them to better manage their energy use and to reduce energy costs. This is considered a rainmaker role where you will be expected to win engagements from your own network.
